From February 18 to 24, 2025, PTT conducted a series of training activities in Nabire, Central Papua, specifically at SMKN 1 Nabire, SMKN 2 Nabire, and STMIK Pesat Nabire.
SMKN 2 held the training on February 18, 2025, SMKN 1 on February 20, 2025, and STMIK Pesat on February 24, 2025.
The three training locations each attended by 70-100 participants from students majoring in Computer and Network Engineering. At STMIK Nabire, the training was also attended by students from Satya Wiyata Mandala University, Nabire.
Similar to previous training activities, this PTT training provided basic explanations of the East Palapa Ring project, theoretical explanations of inland and submarine fiber optics, and microwave radio. The training concluded with practical training on using OTDRs, Optical Power Meters, and Splicers. All materials were delivered directly by the PTT Team in the Nabire region.
This training also included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking the beginning of collaboration between PTT and schools and universities. These include internship programs, industry visits, and guest lecturers.
The event was also attended by the Acting Head of the Central Papua Provincial Education Office, Mrs. Rita Dessy Ananda, and the Senior High School and Vocational High School Supervisor, Mr. Harun El Rasyid, as representatives of the local government supporting this training.
PTT strives to continuously contribute to the world of education, a commitment it has made since 2021. It is hoped that participants will develop a further interest in telecommunications, which will then contribute directly to the development of telecommunications in the Central Papua region.
