PTT and WCD Conduct Environmental Cleanup

Papua | September 22-30, 2023 Environmental issues have become a global problem. The increasing use of plastic and a lack of environmental awareness mean that waste remains a major problem.

PT Palapa Timur Telematika was motivated to conduct environmental cleanup activities in conjunction with World Cleanup Day in the Papua region. This activity is a simultaneous cleanup initiative conducted worldwide, including Indonesia. The activities include education about waste issues, followed by waste collection, which is then collected and finally transported to a final disposal site (TPA).

In this activity, PTT directly contributed to five regions within the East Palapa Ring area: Jayapura, Sorong, Manokwari, Nabire, and Merauke. The activity, which took place from September 22-30, 2023, also invited local communities to work together to clean up the waste.

The benefits of this World Cleanup Day initiative were immediately felt, with the environment being cleared of waste that previously disrupted the environment and its beauty. This kind of activity isn't a one-off event; PTT will continue its commitment to protecting the environment by regularly holding cleanup activities and minimizing the use of single-use plastics.
