Working Visit of Members of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives to Paniai Regency, Papua

Paniai Papua | April 15, 2021 Thursday (April 15, 2021), Yan Permenas Mandenas, a member of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, personally inspected the Palapa Ring East National Strategic Project in Paniai Regency, Papua.

This inspection aimed to assess the readiness of BAKTI Kominfo and the Implementing Business Entity, PT Palapa Timur Telematika (PTT), to meet the connectivity needs of Meepago residents, particularly in the three regencies of Paniai, Deiyai, and Dogiyai.

Yan Permenas stated that his office continues to support the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology in accelerating the development of telecommunications access in all 3T (Underdeveloped, Frontier, and Outermost) areas, both in Papua and other parts of Indonesia.

The visit also included a visit to the Enarotali Network Operation Center (NOC), which was attended by representatives from Telkom West Papua and Papua. Furthermore, PTT and Telkomsel will integrate in the Paniai area to ensure a 4G signal. Currently, progress is being made on the delivery of integration materials and infrastructure.

"During my previous visit in October 2020, the signal was still poor, but on my visit this time, the signal had improved," - Yan Permenas Mandenas. The agenda concluded on April 16, with the group departing for Timika.
